Our cause is our class,
peace and socialism. Focus On Socialism is the political journal of CPS.
In it we address current national and international issues. We strive to
bring a Marxist-Leninist viewpoint to the struggle of Canadians for
peace, progress and socialism.
FOS is produced by workers, about workers and for workers. FOS is
made possible through volunteer labour and the generosity of our
readers, subscribers and members with the help of their donations.

May Day
Statement
Canadians for Peace and Socialism
April 17, 2010

May Day 2010 takes place at a
moment when another global failure of the capitalist system continues to wreak
economic havoc on the lives of millions of workers and their families. The

Don Currie - Chair of
CPS

Confederation, is still capable of progressive development. Nothing could be
more remote from the truth.

Lenin and Today's Problem in the
Trade Union Movement
Tim Buck, Lenin and Canada
From an article appearing in the Canadian Tribune August 27, 1969
Progressive activists in the trade union
movement have to look further and further afield today in their search
for answers to the many new questions which crop up, literally day by
day. Gone are the days when it was enough to be: "Again collaboration
with the bosses." That is still the starting line, of course, but life
and growth, and some progress, are teaching the members in general to
ask militants: "What would you do?" This is progress, provided that
militants have logical, considered answers.
